| Haven't been on Jiggmin / PR2 in 7ish years |

It's really cute to see how this community is still together, I remember going on Jiggmin every single day after school and playing PR2. This community is awesome and PR2 is such a nostalgic game, it's quite amazing to see how this many years later people are still online too, probably reminiscing the past the same as me. The day the original site went down unexpectedly was really surprising to me as a kid, so being able to browse around here truly is a nostalgic ride. All these posts are bringing back memories, the weekly/biweekly contests, people designing skins for this game, some of members here I vaguely remember too. Thanks for everything, especially the admins of this site do to keep it up and running.

Make Artifact Location Search Great Again |

After a little discussion of it on JV2 Discord, we thought of a way to perhaps change the way the artifact location hunt works to make it more fun again, so we'll share this idea here.
Searching for arti levels is still fun, it just becomes pointless after the bubbles get won since you no longer get anything special for it, and since the hint gets fully revealed eventually as well and you've got no time limit, you can just "get it whenever" and the intense search stops.
We thought that the solution might be separating the bubble award to something else and changing the point of the artifact to something that the community in general would like. Perhaps restricting artis to only give exp, but the sooner you find it, the more exp you gain, so you still want to find it as fast as possible, but the finding process becomes a community effort instead of a 1st finder competition where "some people might have an unfair advantage".
I'd like to think the "usual first finders" don't actually want to ruin the fun for others (the bubbles are just so rare and appealing that it ends up this way), so if you could keep the first finder(s?) anonymous (perhaps until the full hint is revealed?), that way others can still keep searching while you secretly enjoy your early extra exp bonus.
This way we wouldn't need any unnecessarily complex level/user names or overly difficult levels, and keep it as a fun level hunting event that it was initially supposed to be.
As for what to do with the bubbles, I'm unsure right now, but I'm sure something can be figured out. And if anyone else has got any cool additional ideas for the new artifact hunt idea to make it even better, you can suggest it in this thread ^^

Info:
(20th November 2019, 10:19 PM)Uptight 534 Wrote: Youtube was found to be in violation of the United States' Children's Online Policy Act (COPPA) by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). For context this is the same law that was enforced on JV (and is on JV2) that did not allow children under thirteen to register and be registered on the site without their parents permission. If someone said they were under thirteen (even as a joke), they would get banned until their thirteenth birthday.
Youtube cannot have collect data and target ads for children under thirteen. This causes content creators specializing in videos for younger people to lose revenue because targeted ads bring more revenue than general ads. There are also other restrictions on videos aimed at children. Creators have to specifically mark if one of their videos is aimed at children. If they do not do this and the FTC deems them in violation, the FTC will give them a fine of (so far seeing) $42,350 per video in violation.
There is also the issue of what constitutes "videos aimed at children" and content creators are worrying about if they will get affected (for example, gaming channels) (I think Camer is falling under this instant since Youtube can likely say PR2 videos are aimed at children).
Here is an article on this and a video from Youtube describing how content creators must comply:
https://nerdist.com/article/youtube-ftc-...emonetize/
I personally think YouTube should've just said "ok we collect data (do personalised ads/homescreen/etc.) on those with accounts only" but ofc they want money, so will put all this on the creators to get the most money still
EDIT: I don't blame YT for the situation overall (that is the FTC), only how they have dealt with it

I watch this every year and I’m currently disappointed with the nominations for GOTY. Super Mario maker should be in the list for GOTY. Also, Star Wars Fallen Order is amazing and it doesn’t have one nomination.
The awards show will start December 12 2019
