PR2 exploded in popularity because it was released on Kongregate at a time when flash games were popular, so it was a really easy game to find and play

Oh snap YEAH! it does sound similar!! I love that track though... Time's Running Out is one of the coolest breakbeat tracks I have ever heard.

And regarding the song being video game music, well... it is licensed music that was used on countless of late 90's and early 2000's games so... i would say it counts. Just not in the traditional sense. Like it is not ''An original'' song from the game's soundtrack but more like a... song on the game that is original tee hee
