People think that it's called a Caesar Salad because it's what Julius Caesar ate.

The real reason behind the name is that Julius Ceasar was carrying a bunch of ingredients at the time of his assassination. When he dropped them they all mixed. One of the assassins picked it up with a dagger and had a bite and thought it tasted really good.
