I've been thinking about blocks that don't go away after hurting/stunning a player.
So I decided to try and draw a spike block in a similar style as the mine that's already in the game
Well. 2nd acc. New day. (Yeah, it's TaroNuke again. Just made a 2nd acc because my first one got pretty much boring.) Still racing on PR2 though (I'm running out of shit to say -3-)
For maybe the 5 people that remember me, I want to play PR2 again and want to know how. I go to the page for pr2 and press "run anyway" for the ruffle emulator, and it stalls at a black screen. Help?
If there's an FAQ for this question somewhere on the forum, I apologize for this pointless thread.
Welcome to Speedrunner of the Week, a contest tailored for the fastest players in Platform Racing 2! We have the racers, the fast racers, and those who are above them all: Speedrunners. Do you have what it takes to become a Speedrunner?
? How does it work? ?
Each week a new level is given a target time and expert time for contestants to beat. If you complete the target time you get 1 point added onto your total score. If you are super speedy and also manage to complete the expert time you will gain 1 extra point, bringing your total to 2 just from beating the set times.
You can also gain points if you place in a podium spot against your competitors: if you set the fastest time that week you will gain 3 points, if you come in with the second fastest time you will get 2 points, and if you set the third fastest time you will get 1 extra point. Make note however, you will only be granted these podium points if you have beaten the target time.
Submissions will close on Sunday 12:00AM EDT. Be sure to convert this time into your own timezone if necessary to avoid any late submissions!
? Rules: ?
Any runs that have been posted after the submission date will not be counted for that week. Please note that Sunday 12:00AM EDT is your deadline and not when I post the "submission's closed" comment on the thread.
You are allowed to submit as many runs as necessary; you are not just limited to one.
You are not allowed to use any form of hacks or TAS in your submitted run, doing so will get you banned from participating in any further SOTW events.
Any form of glitching which wasn't intended by the creator of the level will not be allowed. If you are unsure whether a glitch is allowed or not, feel free to ask me in a thread post or through Discord.
You are not allowed to involve multiple players in your speedrun. however, you are allowed to have someone spectate you for any assistance purposes such as recording runs.
In the event of a level with 'Super Flying Cowboy Mode' (SFCM): unless the level uses this mode as a hat remover or if the level specifically requires the use of SFCM, all runs that have this mode enabled must be reset. Any runs that have this mode enabled when it's prohibited will be voided.
You are only allowed to use up to 195 stat points (Rank 45).
You are not allowed to use any hats which may affect the time of the speedrun. Hats which you are allowed to use include: Exp Hat, Kong Hat, Party Hat, Jigg Hat, Thief Hat and the Jellyfish Hat.
You are allowed to get the stat advantages from any of the stat blocks around the level.
Regarding video submissions, only video submissions which have been posted on this thread will be allowed. I will not be accepting any downloadable files as submissions. Please make sure that in your video you are also showing your in-game stats, as well as a clear video on your ending time.

20 Points - Epic Blobfish Head
30 Points - 5,000,000 Experience

#1 | Candyland: fun, interactive, eventful races; various shortcuts and item/hat-based shortcuts allow for player expression; great design; great theming; rewards skillful play and quick strategic thinking; secret areas
#2 | Razorblade: varied, unexpected races; various pathways, difficult shortcuts; enables player expression; great design; spectacular theming; secret areas
#3 | Mario Bros: fun, fast-paced races; fairly linear, but never boring; well-designed; Mario Bros theming ; secret areas
#4 | Zerostar: glitches galoreeee; countless pathways and shortcuts of various difficulties; unique, creative, interesting design
#5 | Soul Temple: simple but enjoyable; chaotic, fun player interaction; solid design
#6 | It's New York: simple but effective (zooooOOOM across New York); sometimes interesting, but sometimes stale; decent design
#7 | Hat Factory: the original final boss of Pr2-- back in 2008, this was a formidable challenge indeed, and the reward of the Prop Hat made it all the more special; but poorly designed/unpolished
#8 | Blacklight: boring boring boring; bad design; cool theming
#9 | Newbieland: zZzZzZzZ -- nostalgia is the only redeeming factor
So this is a rough sketch/design/modification of what my final hat project will look like. I know, the pic may not look like much, but once you see the whole thing, you'll change your behavior and opinion. Like I said before, this hat will be the most dominate hat in Pr2, ever! All it needs is support and finishing touches, and it'll be good to go! ???
The colored lines will indicate that the weapon inside the hat is being triggered to terminate someone. There's a lot of work that'll be put into this hat, and this will be THE ONE HAT that'll prohibit Pr2 from being dead. I can't draw very well, but I'm trying. F@H will also be involved with this hat, but that's for extra abilities.
Sneak Peak of what it does: Decimates your opponent with a VERY powerful laser that travels faster than the velocity of the regular weak ass lasers that we have now, has acid that'll suffocate the living hell out of your opponents and blind their vision, etc.
Here's what people had to say about the current 15 hats that we have. Some hats are trash, I agree:
I'm gonna make this short and simple because I don't know much about who @HelpACC is, but I do know that he used to be in the "Gods of Glory" Guild, and then he left. If not, correct me if I'm wrong. I'll do my best! @HelpACC started Pr2 8 years ago around the time when players such as xCeVeDz, Yes! Oh my Gosh!, Chocapic, Slowboy03, and many others did.
These players were well known for ranking up incredibly fast, they probably had macro bots with auto hotkeys, and more. xCeVeDz and Slowboy03 retired in 2013/2014, but then xCeVeDz came back to rank up a few years later. Again, correct me if I'm wrong.
On the other hand, @HelpACC continued to grind and rank his accounts up. I think the reason his name is "HelpACC" is because he was known for helping people rank their accounts up. This guy was quite the competitor, but unfortunately he discontinued Pr2 at the rank of 68+5. This was probably over a year ago, who knows ?♂️ However, can we all agree that if he continued to rank his main up, he'd probably be at least 70+8, today?
Think about this for a moment... he was 68+5 over a year ago, probably ahead of @FDX3 by the base rank, but he only had +5 rank tokens. If he were to have folded his main to +8 and continued to level his main, he'd probably be on his way to 71+8 by now. So now the question becomes, what happened to @HelpACC, why did he leave Gods of Glory, and will he ever come back? You all let me know.
I don't know the name of his alt's, but here's my prediction of where his rank would stand, today. Since some players are going to be ranking up soon, these rank predictions are anticipated ahead of time. I'm only counting ranks 70+. Pay close attention to where @HelpACC is located on the list.

I wanted to know your thought's on the new Amazon Go Stores that are being tested and eventually launched. I'm watching a video on it and I feel it can be the next best thing but could potentially be the next big scam if you don't always check receipts after you do a shop? Surely Amazon could add an item in maybe 1 in 30 customers to their bill, small enough so the customer maybe very rarely notice, and in turn could generate Amazon millions. Maybe I'm being stupid asf about talking about this but I kinda liked the idea of being able to pick items up and literally not having to wait for the next man to bag half the store up. But now, after having this thought of maybe having to check the receipt carefully via mobile, after you walk out, this for me would cause more stress than having to go through and pay like normal.
I wanna get some more opinions on the whole thing and thought I'd ask here.
