Due to some slight complications with the server move, emails from JV might not be working for a while. I'll pick up debugging of the issue tonight.

This is the third (and hopefully final) installment in the server-migration trilogy. (click for parts 1 and 2)

...so, yeah! It's done. JV is now on a server that:
- Doesn't limit the number of users that can browse the site at one time (only 30 is kinda ridiculous)
- Is literally 4x faster
- Has DDoS protection built-in (no more 5-second browser checks every time you load a page)
- Centralizes all of the JV-related projects (namely the multiplayer servers)
- Is about 2/3 the price of the old one

I'm holding my breath and crossing everything hoping for the smoothest of transitions. If you experience any odd issues, please let me know.

JV was probably the first real online community I joined back in the day, and just looking at the layout of this site alone brings me back. I remember i joined PR2 in like 2009 and the original forums in 2011; to me that really shows how fast time is going by    Somehow, it doesn't feel like an entire decade has passed since then.

This site looks almost exactly like the original one, so hats off to whoever did that because it's total nostalgia! I don't even know what else to say but looking through some of the posts here makes me smile cause I remember some of you guys    I'll probably just continue lurking here like I used to in the later days of the original JV forums but I do think it's simply amazing that you guys managed to stick together after all these years even after the original site shut down. I love it!!!!

The changes to PR2 listed above have been made to the PR2 client, which is different from the server. The server updates are listed on GitHub and can be found here: https://github.com/jacob-grahn/platform-...s%3Amerged

I want to finally pick up this project-ish thing I mentioned almost a year ago at this point. The hosting plan for JV2 expires this fall (holy wow it's been 3 years), so I can finally start to think about moving the server without losing a lot of Zach's and my money.

I need to test how this will work logistically, and also see if the server we have for multiplayer games can handle the load of hosting a forum and simultaneously run a few socket servers. If all goes well, I'll complete the move this weekend. This may result in a bit of downtime while I get everything set up. Just wanted to give you all a heads up!
